Liebour say they are doing away wirh the PCC in england and wales as they are ineffective and cost £100 million a year. Then they say the role will be abolished in 2028 ? which means a future spend of £200 million plus a generous redundancy package no doubt, is it any wonder we are in financial straits with this party ?

You make a fair point, it does sound contradictory. If the PCC role is considered ineffective and too costly, delaying its removal until 2028 just adds even more unnecessary expense. That money could definitely be better spent on frontline policing or community safety instead of administrative costs and redundancy payouts. It’s decisions like this that make people frustrated with how public funds are managed.
