I was born in Dawlish am 27 live at home oh by the way work (in Exeter) I cannot afford to move out the family home have any of you looked at the price of housing or rents. I probably would hav been better off being single mother

Had you been a single parent than yes, you might well have been better off in terms of housing because by having a child the local authority would have had a statutory requirement to house you BUT had you been living at your parental home with your child then possibly not. Complicated I know, but there you are.

As it happens you are one of the goodness knows how many 'homeless at home'. I take it you are single, childless, and in good mental and physical health. Because if you are then the local authority has no statutory requirement to house you and you will not appear on its housing needs register.

I suspect there are many like in you in Dawlish (and thousands across the country) who have a housing need but an INVISIBLE housing need.

So.....start making a noise and get yourselves known about. Especially as there may be new housing coming on stream. Why should the young and single be left out? Eh?

My housing needs are sorted I am moving to York (where my sister moved). There is a lot of good affordable places to rent and a lot of well paid jobs
