could anyone tell me what the most likely outcome will be if the football club move out of their current ground with regards to the land it is on? is it likely to be part of a new housing development and is it currently council owned? i assume that the rumours i have heard are true bearing in mind the number of houses in the sought after henty close/avenue vicinity which have recently come to market with "magnificent sea and parkland views" (soon to disappear?) (these coming to market were as common as rocking horse dung not that long ago!)
thanks in advance
As I understand it, moves are afoot to stop any development on the Leisure Center complex.
Objections to any type of development except for leisure and pleasure should be vigorously supported, not like your town councillors who have been hoodwinked into placing an objection against an application to categorise it as a village green, which would make future development very difficult.
The leisure center is the envy of so many other towns and villages in Devon, don't lose it to greedy developers and backhander grabbing mongers.
just spoken to someone from the area and they say that the old rumours about a supermarket being built on the carpark opposite the ground have resurfaced recently, and the council would very much like a housing development on the ground at the bottom of the pitch and putt. Hope its not true but nothing surprises me these days. Apparently there is a possibility that if the football ground relocates then a cinema complex and various leisure facilities would fit well on the vacant land.
Why do people always take more notice of rumour than fact.
Always best to check out the source before malicious gossip gets out of hand.
The times I have seen the first part of a sentence start with, "I have just spoken to someone", is countless.
There are more straw men than real ones.
