ONE of the six cygnets born in Dawlish just over a week ago has died. Dawlish Waterfowl Wardens have announced the cygnet had been lost, possibly having been attacked by seagulls. Intense weather conditions and predators have also led to the loss of 13 ducklings which hatched recently.

Such a shame.

But seagulls are an endangered species.

You don't see many of them around, inland, on farms when the farmer is ploughing, or on landfill sites.
