The Public consultation has been very successful and the feedback has supported the provision of an equipped play area for toddler and young children on the existing play area site; and a provision for older children and youth on the existing hard standing area on the other side of the road(the car park). This is what Teignbridge District Council found after consultation with people and children in the area.
This play park is what the youngsters have been asking for for the last five years, now that the play park is being built there are a few people living close by who are trying to disrupt the chance of youngsters to play. They did have a chance to speak out in front of the planning committe but didn't turn up?

Was there adequate advertising before the consultation was conducted?
I remember a consultation excersise before CCTV was born here in Dawlish and it was claimed by the now defunct mayor (Tom Bush)that there was overwhelming support. Investigations showed that a new meaning was attached to the word overwhelming. There was little or no support, I guess the same claims could be made for this play area.
