BBC article - Traders launch bid to stop town improvement scheme

The traders of Queen Street Newton Abbot do not want the street pedestrianised. It is causing a loss of trade.

Why is our MP Martin Wrigley against the traders? His job is to represent his constituents interests and concerns. However he is adamant on ruining their businesses.

Town improvement scheme = make the town poorer scheme.

Typical government scheme.

@Steve

That means nothing to me.

Considering that the Tories were in power when all this was planned back in October, I can only assume you mean them.

As work started in late May, I cannot see that Labour would have had all this planned and contracts exchanged in the few weeks that they had in power.

@Carer, it makes no difference what party is in power.
