Hi, I applied for a postal votal vote online, which was accepted. I received the following email from electoralservices@teignbridge.gov.uk.

I am pleased to inform you that I have allowed your absent vote application.

I applied a couple of weeks ago but haven't received anything by post yet. However, I would prefer to vote online anyway but there doesn't seem to be any information on how to do it. Does anyone know how voting online works?

Just looked at this on the Teignbridge website, I guess online won't open until then either perhaps

Postal ballot packs will be sent to you before an election (usually eight working days before polling day). The ballot paper will be included with those cast at polling stations as long as we receive it before 10pm on polling day. Please bear the eight working days in mind, especially if you live overseas and want your ballot papers sent to you. You may want to appoint a proxy instead.

Voting online is so open to corruption.

I too have postal voting due to my mobility issues but I would prefer to vote 'in person' at a polling station, otherwise it takes away the excitement and the personal service.

IMO, far too may things are being done online now, doing away with the personal contact and interaction with other people.

My problem is I don't have any photo id and so I can't vote in person. You don't need photo id for a postal vote, just a signature.

We cannot vote online in this country. Try a web search or just go straight to Gov.uk.

Yes, it looks like "save time and do it online" is a government slogan, probably added to all correspondence regardless.

@Steve, yep, think it just refers to registration being quicker online than by post.

I still haven't received my postal ballot papers. They are cutting it a bit fine aren't they?

Does anyone know if you can you download them?

Steve.  I got mine several days ago.  The postal poll card says "If you have not received your postal vote by Friday 28 June 2024 call 01626 215104".

OK, thanks @Daverc. I will call them tomorrow unless it arrives in the meantime.
