Whilst welcoming this news it does nothing whatsoever for those with no bus service at all, or for those with a bus service but which is unreliable like the No 2 Exeter/Newton Abbot route about which those of us who are bus users can readily attest. Someone pointed out to me only the other day that there was more chance of seeing Santa Clause riding his sleigh in the sky than there was of not having a number 2 bus cancelled!
When the service is scheduled to be every 30 minutes, a cancelled bus makes for a l - o- n- g wait.
What is the point in having lower fares if there are no buses? Why will just having lower fares necessarily encourage bus usage? Doesn't a regular and reliable service also need to be in the offer?
