This all happened in the early 2000s just before I moved here but it wasn't that long before I became aware of it.

For some reason it came back into my mind recently.

I wonder if the two parties concerned have, as it were, kissed and made up, or whether there is still no love lost between the two?

The field in question was closed for holiday maker use for some years after I moved here but is now, and has been for some time, used for camping holidays. So I guess permission to use it as such must have been granted sometime during the intervening years. 

Anyone any more info?

Yes but TDC did find 3 million extra to pay into the staff pension fund again last year and they keep saying they haven't got enough coming in. 
 

If that is the case (can you give a link please) then surely they are being a good employer in looking after their staffs' pensions? The common denominator seems to be the amount of money. What is hugely different is the reason why it was/was not paid out.

To return to the original subject of this thread. For those not too sure just where the Seaway Touring site was, it is now part of the Ladies Mile Holiday Park. If you travel along Warren Road going towards the Warren then just as the road curves around with the sewage works on the right so the site concerned is on the left.

Lynne you would need to look at the accounts for each of the years following to find if a payment was made, as to the road I believe this was a farm track and not a public road. 

I have no idea whether any money was ever paid out to the owner of Seaway by TDC. Perhaps a Freedom of Information Request submitted by someone might elicit some information?

The only road I have mentioned on this thread is Warren Road. Are you referring to the unmade road/farm track that used to connect Week Lane to Warren Road? That was open when I first moved here but got closed off some years back and now seems to have been reconfigured and incorporated (as has the Seaway site) into the Ladies Mile Holiday Park complex.

With regard to pensions. I fully endorse any employer, whether in the private or public sector, in making sure that the pension fund of their employees is financially sound.  

Not too sure about my memory nowadays but the sum of £800,000 being paid to them springs to mind.
