General Discussion

This by election will take place on Thursday 20th January to fill the vacancy caused by the passing of Cllr Terry Lowther.

There are two candidates:

Rachel Hardy - Lib Dems

Mike Stubbs - Conservative 

Hopefully Charles Stubbs (what is it with Tories not using their real names??), does as badly as he did last time. 

Rachel Hardy..............who???? not even worthy of putting a leaflet through my door, probably in the expectation that she will get eleected  without having do do anything. -  hope she is photogenic as ther will no doubt be future  pictures of councillors pointing into a pothole with the caption  -" local councillor looking into it "

Would love to see a manifesto about trying to fight for the ratepayers in dawlish rather than the usual guff about how they love dawlish but dont focus on what the issues are for 

hard pressed families.

Election day is today.

Rachel Hardy easily overcame Charles Stubbs. I wonder if he'll finally take the hint?

Rachel Hardy - Lib Dems - 644 votes

Mike Stubbs - Con - 486 votes 

Poor Mike timing is evertything,.......wonder how much  Boris antics influenced voting pattern.
