It will take the police two weeks to turn up.
It would have been nice if they put a photo of him for us to see.
It seems that the police no longer uphold the law, but side on the side of the law breakers.
You report a crime and no one attends, you are told they will follow up and nothing happens and then a couple of weeks later you get a call or text to say they have closed the ref with no further action.
Bonus for the police is a lower than actual crime rate due to police misconduct in office my opinion.
They certainly don't comply with the DECLARATION OF SERVICE they all signed when they joined the force.
It all seems driven by political bias these days.

Currently been on 101 line for 29 mins waiting for someone to take my call...smooth operation. Although once I call 999 and was put in a queue for a couple of minutes.
I wonder why the public have a negative view of the support the police give!
The 101 call I was making yesterday actually took 1 hour and 12 minutes for me to come off hold and speak to a call handler. Just as well it is a non emergency no.
And yes I am aware I could have contacted them on the internet before some troll bangs off.
Deedoodle, you are not wrong. I have had the same problem, but after waiting on hold a lot of people hang up, therefore, it does not show on the call logs indicating that there are little or no problems in Dawlish. Would you care to elaborate on what the issue was? as I have a meeting with the Police Crime Commissioner on Saturday as I would like to print out these posts.
@Brooklyn Bridge. Thanks for the input....it is in connection with a situation of ongoing harrasment and intimidation that has gone on for over 10 years towards my family by a couple of rather nasty people in the local area. Call after call to the police including one 999 call and many ref logs and the situation merely continues to escalate against us and our property. Our health and well being has suffered.
In 10 years the police have only spoken to one of them, once by phone and once face to face. We are at our wits end.
Hmmm,,,,,, guessing your caucasin, not transitioning, non- immigrant, not a black live matters or extinction rebellion supporter, so you may not meet the criteria for instant response.
Alison Hernandez told me on the phone that she wants to hear any and all complaints of anyone calling the 101 or for that matter the 999 number that is put on hold for long periods of time, any ASBO'S problems etc. So post on here and I will print the page out and discuss the complaints with her on this coming Saturday. I'm sure most of you know of her but for those that do not her title is.

POLICE have have now located Michael Mercury, a 39-year-old man who was missing from the Dawlish area of South Devon.
Dawlish news is a bit late posting on the 7th when he was found on the 4th.

Yes I think it would be good to have a police office in the town. And on the subject of a visible presence of law enforcement officers:
Perhaps another issue you could raise with her is this new government initiative of Covid Street Marshalls. Like - Who will be recruiting them? How will they be recruited? What powers will they have? How many is it thought will be needed? How will they be trained and who will train them? Will they be paid or will they be volunteers? What powers will they have? How will they enforce Covid compliance? You know, that general sort of thing.

How about the waste of ratepayers money trying to incorporate devon/cornwall police with dorset
How about her justification that we have to paymore in rates for policing but get less in Dawlish
How about the expense used to tart up the commisioners office
How about the false information we get from the police saying how they are on top of crime.
How about why some crimes are not recorded on the database as crimes, with the objctive of showing better crime statistics.
How about instead of writing columns for local newspapers/ lecturing about diversity and woke issues she concentrates on the job she should be doing : hollding the police
to account for their performance.
How about justifying the expense in providing thousands of pounds in tazers.

Our law abiding (ahem!) prime minister promised 20,000 new police officers when he took office some 14 months ago, This figure was repeated again in the Conservative party December 2019 General Election manifesto. Has Devon and Cornwall police recruited any new officers over the past 14 months? If yes, how many? And how does the present number of police officers compare with the number ten years ago?
I'm pretty certain that I've read somewhere that the police are looking to recruit university graduates only. Ask her if that is correct. If so, what are her thoughts on it?

So I asked a leader of a local council what the situation was/is with regard to these new fangled Street Marshals given as I am led to understand that local councils will be responsible for them and this is what I was told:
"As you appreciate, the Government made its announcement late last week.
As far as I am aware there is no Government funding for Covid Street Marshalls.
The new 'gatherings of six' arrangements etc became applicable from today (Monday).
We'll keep all these matters under review working with Devon County Council, other councils and authorities."
