Just had a walk down by St Gregory's Church and as I came out of the grounds towards Dawlish Water. I was surprised to see about 20ish fairly old people (60-80 ) sitting on chairs in a tight circle behind Newhay Close on the field. My concern was that they were all within arms length of each other and not wearing masks. A few of them had even driven their cars along the footpath and parked on the field.
Correct me if I am wrong, but wasnt it this age range that got hit the hardest by the intial outbreak of Covid?
As I was walking along the foot path towards Church Street an old rover estate car came up behind me and had the cheek to think they had right of way....as I moved off the foot path so I would not be run down. The old boy at the wheel stopped his car and said he was allowed to drive along the footpath as it is church land. Wound his window up and carried on. What a self righteous knob he was. It may or may not be church land, but a public foot path means the pedestrians have right of way over a motorised vehicle not the other way around in my book.
There I have vented my anger now, sigh!
