Today i went shopping, a stressfull chore every two weeks. The last couple of months i have equipped myself with a gvs elipse a1p3 respirator and a pair of dewalt goggles. 

i fully shave my face and fully sterilise the mask and goggles between shops on top of that they are not used for the fortnight between shops either.

on arriving at either sainsburys or morrisons i put the mask on and check both vacume seal and exhaust are working correctly. i then put on the goggles and then reperform the tests on the mask.

Today i got up and prepared myself for the stressfull shopping experience. If you have never worn this type of equipment i think you would find it as stressfull as i have.

Anyway seeing that it was a rather hot day today and usually by the end of an hour or so roaming around the store to get all my shopping, today for essential buys and nothing fancy came to £249, i am stressed as fock. I decided enough was enough, this last couple of months lockdown has worn me out so fock the mask and goggles.

i initially went to sainsburys at Dawlish Warren, but there was a rather sizeable line waiting to go in. So i went to morrisons in teignmouth were there was no line.

i finished my shopping and came home. Now normally i would wipe all my shopping down with wet wipes and wash and dry all the fruit and veg, but fock that just chucked it in the cupboards, fridge freezer. i stuck my clothes in the washing machine and had a shower.

now i will let you know if i get covid 19 in the next 14 to 49 days, oh and it was busier on the roads and in morrisons than it would be on a normal thursday afternnoon.

@Deedoodle - sincerely hope you don't get ill - of course I do - but.......you will remember to obey the rules if you do get any symptoms won't you and self isolate for 14 days. (If you need any help just post on here cos I feel sure the d.com community would rally round).

Please do not follow the example of one Dominic Cummings who apparently drove to the other end of England when both he and his wife were Covid19 symptomatic.

@Lynne.....indeed, but how many may i have infected in the 14 to 49 days the virus takes to show any symptoms?

Its like the government saying people can come to this country and self isolate for 14 days! a plane load of people x 10, 20, 30, 100 plus planes coming into the u.k. a day. How many were infected before they got on the plane and how many infected when they got off the plane.

How do they make their way to the address they will be staying at....car, cab, bus, train, walk.

Lynne this virus will do what it does and the nhs, that has been run into the ground for decades whilst the hospital trust's management suck the last drop of money to line their own pockets, will still not have enough personnel or euipment due to this incompetent government.

I will do what i think is  best for me and mine like many others seem to be doing that surround my home.

LET COMMON SENSE PREVAIL AND DONT BECOME A SHEEPLE.

Ah yes, let us not forget that Borisonian good old British common sense.   

I would have thought it common sense that if a lot of people travel to the coast and inland beauty spots then social distancing will become a problem with the common sense consequent possibility of the virus going above R1 again. 

But hey, as you say, everyone seem to be doing their own interpretation of the rules now (if not before). And if Dominic Cummings can bend the rules and get away with it then you can see why others feel that they can do the same.

(for info - Cummings isn't an MP. He is the chief special advisor to, and appointed by, bumbling Boris. Cummings is on a salary of circa £100k paid for by the taxpayer).   

There's common sense and there's common sense.

I have been watching folk all day no social distancing cylists on the footpaths cycling between people i have seen 20 plus motorhomes and one caravan the A379 is busy and when there nearest and dearest die it will be the goverments fault. The truth is if you give the public a inch they will take a mile it's a British pastime and that's what politicians have failed to grasp, folk just have to bend the rules but what they dont realise that this time taking the p*** may kill them.

One rule for the rich, another rule for the rest.

Good old tories, standing by what they ALWAYS believe in.

There is no point now in complaining because good old Boris stands by Cummings so that means that anyone can do anything and go anywhere.

The Police have lost all authority now to turn back anyone who appears to be in breach of lockdown ruling.

I am not complaining Lynne i follow my instinct they out there follow there's we will see who's is right in about 14 days.

Maybe Cummings was just following the example set by Labour MP Stephen Kinnock who travelled to visit his parents when it was his father's birthday.

Not condoning the Kinnock trip at all, but as far as I am aware he didn't travel when both he and the person he was with were already displaying Coronavirus symptoms.

Nor was he heavily involved in determining the government's policy with regard to Coronavirus.

Unlike Demonic Cummings. 

Kinnock made a non-essential journey to see his father on his birthday, for all he knew he could have been incubating the virus.  The hypocrites are out to get Cummings because he is the driving force in the final stage of the Brexit process, and they hate him.

Ahem! I think you'll find there are prominent Leave MPs in the mix of those calling for the defenestration of Cummings.

And since you mention an MP making a non essential journey there was also the case of the tory MP who did the same.

The Housing, Communities and Local Government Secretary was forced to explain himself after travelling more than an hour to visit his parents despite warning people to remain at home.

Mr Jenrick was also criticised for travelling 150 miles from his London property to his Herefordshire home from where he travelled to his parents in Shropshire.

However, he defended his actions, saying he went to deliver food and medicine to his isolating parents.

Labour MP Tahir Ali broke lockdown rules and attended a funeral along with dozens of other mourners.

We can play this tit for tat game all day if you like.

But the thing is, and unlike Cummings, they are not in positions of power (unelected in his case) and very actively involved in determining what the Coronavirus policy should be.

Why you or anyone else thinks that the continuation of Cummings in Downing Street will be a positive for your beloved Boris and his government is beyond me (and quite a few Tory MPs as well as it happens).

The tory government, the 'govenrment for the PEOPLE' have now shown their TRUE colours.

One rule for the rich, and stuff everyone else.

As for tit for tat, Cummings helped MAKE THE RULES!

OK, Ali & Kinnock broke the rules, but did they have anything to do with Lockdown Rules?

The argument here is that Cummings broke his OWN rules

@1263 Totally agree the whole covid 19 shit is a complete bore. However they will have plenty to moan about this time next year when the true outcome of all this becomes clear. Four million unemployed, unbelievable tax and goods price rises, food shortages, many many businesses shut down, not to mention the thousands that will die as a result of not getting routine surgery or cancer treatment. Also dont forget who's going to pay back the £trillions of debt the country will be in, far worse than after the war. 120 countries have called for an independant investigation into China and how they allowed this virus to spread, but will they do anything about it when China refuses. No chance. We need to be taking action against them now by banning the import of all their cheap counterfiet crap, preventing their aircraft from entering our airspace, and anything else we can do to ruin their ecconomy like they have done ours.

I see from the papers that Opticians are pushing to be allowed to open up again.

Makes cummings sense to me.

Those billions of £'s have gone into pockets they don't just disappear into the ether.

I am just waiting for the announcement that vat will have to be increased to 25 percent.

Oh.......and wait for it m.p's have a substantial payrise to cover their inconvenience for having to endure the covid saga.
