Tiverton resident Joan Weeks celebrated her centenary on August 18. She was born in Wisteria Cottage, The High Street Dawlish, in 1919.

For some years she also lived in the ‘Coastguards’ cottages at Dawlish. From there she used to travel on the train to Teignmouth Grammar School.
