The Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue Service is currently consulting on a range of proposals that could see eight rural fire stations close, with the mothballing a number of engines and converting fully-manned stations into part-time operations also outlined.

Axminster, Bampton, Bere Alston, Bideford, Bovey Tracey, Buckfastleigh, Burnham-on-Sea, Camels Head, Castle Cary, Chagford, Cheddar, Chulmleigh, Combe Martin, Crewekerne, Crownhill, Cullompton, Dartmouth, Dawlish, Dulverton, Danes Castle, Middlemoor, Glastonbury, Greenbank, Hartland, Hatherleigh, Holsworthy, Ilminster, Ivybridge, Kingsbridge, Lundy Island, Minehead, Modbury, Moretonhampstead, Nether Stowey, Newton Abbot, North Tawton, Ottery St Mary, Plympton, Plymstock, Princetown, Salcombe, Seaton, Shepton Mallet, Somerton, South Molton, Street, Tiverton, Torrington, Clyst St George, Wincanton, Wiveliscombe, and Yelverton fire stations are not affected and will retain the same level of cover.
