You could not make it up...the lib dems refuse 10k grant for the airshow as they have declared a "climate emergency" .It was said that Torbay got 160k visitors for the air show bringing in much needed cash for the area. Pity the poor spokesman in charge of tourism for Teignbridge trying to defend teignbridge decision.

Dont the lib Dems realise they are only in power as a protest vote. Funny how they never mentioned this in their manifesto.. Another nail in the coffin for traders and tourism.Judging by the antics of some neds on the den bowling green perhaps they should declare a "anti_social" emergency rather than pander to being pc.

Each time I have had the misfortune to live in a borough under the control of the Lib Dems it was like the lunatics had taken over the asylum. Lib Dems are simply not competent enough to run a council, let alone the country.  I dread to think what state Teignbridge will be in by the end of their term in office, as they will surely get booted out at the next elections.

Are the Lib Dem’s completely bonkers? Yes! Why would they block an air show in this area when history proves the massive impact on tourism and trade it has! And as for the climate impact, look at China, India and the USA for climate impact, what we do will always be a tiny, tiny, tiny, drop in the massive ocean! We really are in for a very rough four years under the Lib Dem’s!

they have declared a "climate emergency"

I wonder where  these Libs Dems (and Green Party) will be going on holiday this year and more importantly, their means of arriving at the destination?

Will they be going to the airport in their 4x4's/SUV's and flying off somewhere or touring the South West on their bicycles?

strange that the lobotomy dems never complained about the classic car show at powdeham last week when 2000 cars were on show and as we know these old cars emit fumes, is it because the climate emergency is only if they ask for a grant? After captain hooks diatribe in the local paper you can only laugh as these jobworths experience power and have no idea how to use it.Still hoping that the local paper will ask the tourism official in teignbridge council for some comments about the airshow or by any chance is that position held by a lob-dem? We await the next  development from teignbridge council and hope the Mr hook has time after answering all the calls he got in support of the "climate change emergency" which as you've guessed it is another political bu**s*it response politicians use to try and justify their actions.

Lets welcome jo aboard........

Swinson, for her part, could hardly be called a fully progressive figure. As employment minister, she reversed workers’ rights by introducing charges of up to £1,200 for the privilege of attending an employment tribunal (a move later ruled unlawful by the supreme court) and even considered cutting the minimum wage, all at a time when workers faced an unprecedented squeeze.

Swinson said she had no regrets about the coalition, stating it was the right move “to get our country back on track”. This is despite the fact it has been shown that austerity shrunk the British economy by £100bn, and has even been linked to 130,000 preventable deaths

See the libtard snowflakes at Teignbridge have just handed out £100,000 of tax payers money to finance yet another waste of time cycle path. Funny how they can do this when they cannot keep the public toilets open, mow the grass verges or provide surficient dog waste and ordinary bins to meet the holiday demand. The cycle path network was suposed to be fiananced by grant money provided by Sustrans not local council tax money. Looks like we will need another parish poll to get rid before the four year term is up just like last time they were in power

Lib Dems in opposition -We voted against bin tax.

Lib Dems in power - keep bin tax and allow price increase.

Summary Yet another reason to remember this, next time election comes round

Just try navigating the Teignbridge website in order to pay the £40 fee for the green bin - it’s a complete nightmare. What idiot thought that one up.
