A couple from Dawlish have been banned from keeping dogs for three years after their pet dog Kizzy was found in a dreadful state, underweight and missing fur.

Fern Amelia Thoms (date of birth: 06/12/1990) and Peter David Thoms (date of birth: 17/02/1989), both of Exeter Road, Dawlish, Devon, were found guilty of one offence under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 when they appeared before Newton Abbot Magistrates’ Court on Friday (3 May).

That is disgraceful, and I would like to thank those responsible for bringing to the attention of the RSPCA.

They should have been banned for life from keeping any pets as they are clearly not capable of looking after them properly.
