A man accused of breaking into a family home has insisted that he met pop star Cheryl at luxury London hotel the Ritz, despite admitting he was "delusional" for thinking she gifted him the property.
Coates, who appeared via video link from Langdon Hospital in Dawlish, said that Cheryl's voice had told him to go to the house while he was staying with a friend in Plymouth city centre.
