A seafood processing firm has begun flying some of its products to Vietnam to be processed because it can’t recruit enough workers.

60 per cent of the firm’s workers come from the EU.  The business features in a BBC Inside Out South West show about the end of freedom of movement after Brexit.

BBC reporters also talk to a Romanian nurse who started working in UK care homes 11 years ago, eventually working her way up to becoming a care home manager in Dawlish.

But they won't do these jobs, the same reason why farms need EU migrants because they will work hard for minimum wage.

If you are unemployed drawing benefit and fit to work there shouldn't be a choice. I was talking to a 20 year old yesterday and asked what she was doing her answer "nothing i cant find a job with decent money and i am not working for min wage". My question is how do they get away with being out of work for 3 years, is it the system that allows it or are there expectations to high.

It's an entirely different attitude, by those in charge, when you have worked most of your life and then end up going into signon for a few weeks. I know I have been on the receiving end of the job centre staff's third degree attitude on several occassions each time I have been made redundant.

If only they had this attitude towards those that have been on large benefits for decades and even family's who not only have been on benefits for generation's. They also sign over the council house's they live in to the next generation of family before they die.

In my opinion, the reason why they don't employ this attitude with long term benefit scrounger's is that they become very abusive and on sometimes violent when they feel there benefits may be decreased or stopped. I know I have witnessed it first hand.

Obviously there are those that genuinely require benefits and that is why we have such a system, but generations of benefit scroungers have taken the pi$$ for far to long and I doubt anything will change.

What's the issue?
