Q. Will Father Christmas be given special Christmas worker status so that he can come to these shores or will he and his reindeer find access to British chimneys closed off? 

The new immigration policy will hopefully cut the numbers arriving on our shores but all borders are open to Father Christmas he has no problems accessing the USA, Australia,New Zealand,so dont worry Lynne he will be landing on your roof this Christmas.

He may even get here by rubber dingy across the channel.

A rubber dingy to cross the Channel seems to be the new favoured route of the econonic migrants.

@Leatash - it isn't this Christmas that I am concerned about - it is next Christmas. 

And his status in the countries you mention won't have altered by next year. But in this country it will have done. 

Will Rudolph and Dancer and Prancer and Cupid and all the other reindeer have to have a customs vet check before they can come here?

I hope so a bit like Australia then and New Zealand not to mention the good old USA.

We are here and it is now. Further than that and all human knowledge is moonshine.

Anyone fancy placing a bet as to whether or not all the customs officers will be trained and all the customs facilities will be in place by this time next year?
