It makes my blood boil every time I see that commercial of Lloyds bank with the running black horse's on a beach somewhere in Wales. At the end of the commercial, it states "by your side" what a load of BS.  Its certainly not by our side or by any other communities sides that have lost the only bank in towns up and down the country. My wife went into the bank today and the line was to the front door.  A statement by Lloyds to Wales online was "we will ALWAYS be by our customers sides" Once again what a load of BS to the highest degree. I would use other words but I would be kicked off the site.

20 Billion, that's 20 BILLION folks was handed out to Lloyds for their bailout by us the taxpayers. We  all know this closure will have a devastating effect on the people and trades people of Dawlish. So now if you need to actually go to Lloyds bank you will have to go to Teignmouth and when that one closes then get to Newton Abott, and then onto Plymouth. So I would be curious how this is going to impact the members on this forum. The banking system in this country should be ashamed.

Well my Bank is in Newton Abbot and i haven't been there for at least 12 years, why would i need to everything is online. Now i know there are those in there twilight years who dont bank online but they will soon be gone as will the High Street branches it's the old story use it or lose it and folk dont use High Street Banks it is as simple as that. And remember they will always be by your side with a APP on your phone and also remember people this is our fault for not using the High Street Branch, at the end of the day they are not charities.

What happened to choice? We are all being forced to go down the same road which doesn’t suit everyone, for all sorts of reasons. And don’t forget that these decisions are being made by people who are only interested in the money they are making for their own benefit and that of their shareholders.

I did't think my post through. Of course only people with Internet would be reading it. I feel more concerned with the folks that do not have the Internet and do not have the ability to do banking online.

In 2017 90% of UK households had a internet connection with the highest percentage age group not having internet being in the 75+range so i presume as us oldies die of the percentage having internet will increase.
