Dawlish Discussion

We have three Lodges meeting in the Masonic Hall in Barton Terrace Dawlish. A very stong presence for a town our size.

Misconceptions on what we do and what we are about are many. Certainly not helped by media articles with half truths and speculation which are in the main simply not true. Many local charities look to us for support. This is just one aspect of what we do.

The Vale of Haldon Lodge is holding an open evening, this coming Tuesday 5th June at 7.00pm. to help dispel some of these miss held veiws.

A short presentation, followed by questions including the application process, and a tour of the building, and some light refreshments. 

If you have an interest come along and meet the members and discover the truth for your self.  

What is the truth? Why do we have to come along to a meeting to discover what it is. My question has always been, "what is the purpose of Freemasonary?".

I suggest you come and find out  - we don't bite , honest.

If you are not going to tell us the truth on this site, then maybe all you are doing to get people to come along is a recruitment drive. I had heard that numbers are dwindling in many lodges.

I did ask in my post, "What is the purpose of Freemasonary?". I should have said, "What is the Common Purpose?". Or are you claiming you have not heard of it?

I am not prepared to enter in to a protracted argument with you. Most of what you need is on our website for all to see. I repeat, come on Tuesday if you have a specifiic question it will be answered. 

The Freemason do a tremendous amount for charities.  When I worked for Red Cross we regularly received money from them for local causes.  There is a national section which is called The Grand Charity we received a massive amount from them for fire victim support vehicles.  When John and I were Mayor and Mayoress of Dawlish we received two amounts for charities in Dawlish at a regional level.  

That is the good side, what about the other side that is kept under wraps?

Another topic that has lost interest. Did anyone from this forum go to get the truth?

If elvis did not go, he would not know what the truth is. He claims it is an honorable organisation, but how does he know that?

Dangling a few carrots here and there to lead the donkeys, is not the only thing they do. Strange also that the starter of this topic has not reported back as to how well the recruitment drive went .

I never said I did or didn't attend, but generally, dead rock and roll stars have mobility problems.
