No need to tell you which local authority this is, But I can say this, they are much the same.

Which Council was this FOI request made to?

Diana Mond, does it matter what council it is? the point of me placing this on Dawlish.com, was to show just from one department, (Transport) how much money is wasted on claims when in the majority of cases, the problems could have been fixed. Maybe by those that are trying to fix Exeter Road.

In Devon, we have a team of men called "linesmen", There job as I understand it is to drive around and make tempory repairs, report what they have done when and where and also report immeadiately problems that they are unable to fix. Temporary fixes are a waste of time and money in many cases. Fixed today then needs fixing again tomorrow. Councillors need to get onto this as quick as possible. So it is over to you now to complaim to John Clatworthy, who is supposed to represent us all.

Of course it matters which county it refers to. Some counties have more roads than others. And you’re making a wild (and inaccurate) assumption that these compensation payouts are all due to potholes. 

I wont be making a complaint to Cllr Clatworthy, as I have nothing to complain about. Other than about those people who make frivolous FOI requests and thus waste far more of taxpayers money than the £35K compensation paid out by this mysterious county council...

Diana Mond is so good at it. I never made a FOI request on what I published and I have no idea who it was that did. I mentioned "linesmen" as they are the ones that drive around the county looking for problems on the roads and pointed out that most of the time it is just a temporary fix, and also pointed out "fixed today back tomorrow to fix again). Exeter road was a classic before they came to do a proper (hopefully) job. there were three potholes that had a temporary fix but lasted no time. 

Funny thing is, that council was in the news on BBC1 at lunch time, itappears they are in a lot of finacial trouble and it said there be a report aboutit by the end of the week. This is not a plug for the BBC by the way.

Seems like you have a dreaded dislike for anyone that makes a FOI request. If you don't ask, how do you know?

2. Could you please try re-typing that last sentence, so that I can answer your question. 

3. You’ve missed the salient point about what the compensation that this mysterious county council (that you still won’t name) was for. 

@Diana Mond i am not here to tell you how to do things. it has been on the news several times today. and it would apper that this not so mysterious council were given 10m for health purposes, but decided to use the money for other things. it looks like they will have to return the money which will make that councils financial situation even worse.watch the news! you may learn something.

Oh I see you edited your earlier post. So my point 2 is now irrelevant, as your question was rhetorical. How about answering the other two points? In plain English rather than your usual riddles please.

Answer to 1. = Nothing that I can see.

Answer to 2. Not sure, except it was aimed at the Transport department of that council.

Word has it, Torbay Borough Council ( A unitary authority) is also in a spot of bother finacialy. They were/are trying to get DCC to take them back. Little chance of that happening as DCC will not take on the debt.
