Good advice but it goes to show/prove that a lot of people have no common sense when it comes to things like this and have to be told what to do.
Have just been to Sandy Lane to get rid of plastic etc and there is a bundle of 2017 bank statements the last one being November some folk just dont think.
You've only got to have a walk around and see how lacking in common sense a lot of people are these days. Not to mention ignorant, self centred, aggresive, disrespectful and lacking any social graces, in my opinion.
I took the details on the statements found a phone number for the owner and phoned them thinking they may have been disposed of by mistake the reply i had on the phone "who the f**** are you to tell me what i should do now f***** off and mind your own bussiness" so i hope some unscrupulous person takes that info and clears his account.
Good for you Leatash for taking the time and making efforts to help someone. Unfortunately your energy was wasted on that person who is an idiot on two accounts. Firstly for dumping the statements like that, which may be forgiveable under some circumstances, but also for abusing you which is completely unforgiveable. I believe (or certainly hope) that this will not deter you from doing further acts of kindness.
Hope you wished him a 'Merry Christmas and an empty 2018 account' before he put the phone down.
I am sorry I may be going against the grain here but I wouldn't dream of going through someones bank statements to get details for them. And then to ring them as well just seems to me to be incredibly nosy. If you felt something should be done then report it as fly tipping.
To get a phone call out of the blue saying "I have you bank details with statements" would have taken me out of my comfort zone as well. I can totally understand the way they reacted.
Just a thought!
