Drugs Raid – Dawlish

I'm surprised we haven't read about this anywhere in the local media.

 

On Wednesday 28th June 2017 at 8am Dawlish neighbourhood officers along with force support group officers executed a warrant under the misuse of drugs act at an address at Charlton House on East Cliff Road in Dawlish.

During a search of the premises, powder believed to be a controlled drug was seized. A local male was detained at the location in connection with drug offences. Enquiries are still ongoing and enforcement action will be taken.

The raid was in response to information received from members of the public relating to drug dealing and drug taking in the Dawlish area.

We ask the community to continue to report concerns. We continually work with intelligence officers and partners behind the scenes to try and disrupt those who cause harm and help those subjected to it.

Why the need for a warrant? If the police took the time to use thes cctv feeds from The Lawn they could observe numerous drug dealing/anti social behaviour, etc, etc,etc. 

Oh!, I forgot the cctv on The Lawn hasn't been used in years and the police WALKING a beat are as scarce as rocking horse poop.

@From The Grave - i can only assume from your comment that you are asking me why i said  'why the need for a warrant ?'. 

Obviously the police need a warrant to search a person's property in certain circumstances. What I was remarking on was that if the police, policed and enforced The Lawn on the odd occassion. There would be no need for a warrant because they would, most probably, already have caught these people/person dealing there.

Chances are the tip off was because some druggie was upset with the friend/dealer/person not giving them some drugs or another dealer getting rid of the competition or just someone sick of the continual traffic of drugged up people marching past their abode.
