Work on recharging the beach in Dawlish Warren as part of a £14million engineering project is a step closer to completion. The scheme is aimed at reducing the risk of flooding to over 2,900 properties around the River Exe and is predicted to bring economic benefits of £158milllion.
The overall scheme is due to be finished by October, but work on recharging the beach with sand, that began last week, and is due to be completed by mid-July so the amenity end of the beach will be finished in time for the school summer holidays.
