The political parties, all of them, will only start listening to your needs and wants if they believe that you will get out and VOTE!
(and yes I know the age demographics of this website is more than likely of the over aged 50 bit of the age spectrum but I like to think we have some younger readers/contributors. )
Young people - get out and vote! (and tell your mates and sibs to do the same thing. 4hours and 30mins left in which to do so as I type this).
Just got back from the polling station.
My jaw almost dropped to the floor. Saw some young people, looked like 18/19 year olds with polling cards in their hands, on the way to the station.

And yet, Labour still lost the election. We won't be seeing Worzel Gummidge entering No 10.
And there you have it. A positive campaign by Labour has resulted in a massive 40% of the vote supporting Labours progressive policies.
Meanwhile, the nasty Conservatives lose seat after seat due in no small part to the nasty name-calling like the above from Burnside and the disgraceful mainstream media.
Make no mistake, Labour won this election. Against all the odds and despite all the lies, slurs, namecalling and nastiness of the Tories, their billionaire supporters in the media, and their nasty lapdogs
So when is Worzel entering No 10 to take power?
You don't get it Burnside. You nasty lot were expecting a 50-seat majority and for Labour to be wiped out. Positive political campaigning turned that upside down. Democracy is the winner.
Result.
Tories win, Labour lost FACT.
One thing we did learn from this election?

She got 75% share of the vote, despite a nasty racist and sexist campaign against her. I've read that this makes her officially the most popular MP ever.
The "seriously ill" Abbott still had enough strength in her bones to send Tweets throughout the night. And I suppose no matter how incompetent a person is, it helps if their boss used to share the bed.

Imploring all the young people to get out to vote didn't work too well did it, Lynne? Morris substantially increased her majority, and surpassed the combined vote of the other three candidates. It looks like this constituency is now a safe Tory seat, just as well Younger-Ross decided not to stand again, there's only so much humiliation he can take.
I know we can all get very parochial Burneside and that this is a Dawlish based website but........it functions via the World Wide Web
