Work on recharging the scheme in Dawlish Warren as part of a £14million engineering project aimed at reducing the risk of flooding to over 2,900 properties around the River Exe has begun.
The work is taking place after the Exe estuary flood and coastal erosion risk management strategy identified the narrow part of Dawlish Warren is at risk of being breached as a result of sea level rise and storms.
