I haven't owned a dog for fifty years so i never took a great deal of notice of the amount of dog poop that is all over this town, on the lawn, on the pavements, and pretty much everywhere. Whenever i go out with my dog i always make sure i have doggie bags. Even if my dog does poop on the Lawn and i have forgotten a bag, back i will come home get one and go out and pick it up. For the past two years of owning a dog i have never witnessed an owner leaving dog poop, and believe me if i did i would offer them a dog bag. Most of these horrible deposits going by the size of the poop must come from big dogs plus of course small ones as well. I'm just disgusted by these irresponsible phantom owners.
Well, good for you, Brooklyn Bridge, but I have witnessed a dog owner who didn't pick up his dog's poo. There was an old man in the Manor in the middle of the afternoon and his dog left a great steaming pile right by the side of the footpath, just handy for one of the kids to step in. I spoke to him about it and said that he could be fined and he just looked at me blankly as if I was talking a foreign language. What can you do in this instance, but I would report him if I saw it happen again.
@UPWITHIT we don't have a dog warden that covers dawlish only, in fact the area covered is huge, i'm sure he said it was up to okehampton. if you're willing to be a witness the dog warden will instigate the prosecution of offenders.
Just noticed a big pile of dog poo right outside my house. It wasn't there late last night so it's an early morning dog walker who just couldn't be bothered!!
My son plays football and we have to do a poo check before each game.
I don't have the best opinion of dog owners. I am sure majority are good owners but let down by the few.
IF YOU SEE SOMEONE NOT PICKING UP THEIR DOG'S POO JUST TAKE A PIC AND PUT IT ON THIS SITE. I'M SURE SOMEONE CAN IDENTIFY SOME OF THESE THESE POO FAIRIES.
