The Environment Agency scheme aims to reduce the flood risk to nearly 3,000 homes in Dawlish Warren and Starcross, as well as in Lympstone and Exmouth, and would reduce the flood risk for the main rail line through Dawlish to ensure that scenes such as the devastation caused in the 2014 storms would not happen again.
