The outcomes of Radio 1's Big Weekend will be considered by Teignbridge District Council's Executive at its meeting on July 19.

Despite widespread advertising and getting in touch with ticket holders directly, not as many people as had been expected took advantage of the bus travel. This means there is an adverse budget variance of £34, 256 which the Executive will consider at its next meeting.

I'm still waiting for FredCliffe to share the outcome of his FOI request that he promised us. 

We have been landed with a bill for another £50,000 on top of the £100,000 already wasted on the Big Weekend. It was a Big Weekend - a Big Waste of tax payers money!

It's a shocker isn't it.    Councillors who approve grants for unproven events should be made to repay it personally.   Shall we start with Dawlish Town Council and last year's Carnival?

I spoke to two men with Stop/Go signs on the day of the event they were expectng queues of traffic through Sandy Lane, they were there until late that evening and never needed the signs.

As you can see no queue.

The Big Weekend was not a waste. It was exactly what we need here more often. The event was brilliant. The reason the park and ride wasn't used was the amount they charged. £11 per person if I remember correctly.

Glad that the fields at Sandy Lane were not destroyed by this short sighted parking excercise, nice to see the greed of those involved thwarted the use of it by those visiting the event.

Powderham had plenty of space, it was an event at their site and they have open their fileds to parking for previous events.

It seems more madness than common sense and judgement run the local councils round here.

I wonder if we could have a mad hatter tea party on The Lawn, should get a good turnout!
