We live in a beautiful part of the world but I'm getting sick of seeing used condoms in rural laybys and parking areas when going for a stroll. I don't want to see either the deed itself or the dirty deposit!
Also why do many dog owners go to the trouble of bagging up their dog's excrement and then hanging the pooh bag from a tree like some sick christmas decoration?
Why not take it away? Or find a bin?
I couldn't agree more! Why put dog pooh in a PLASTIC bag that will take thousands of years to degrade and then toss it into the hedgerow or, as you quite rightly point out, hang it on a tree. Although utterly disgusting, it would be better to leave it and NOT use the plastic bag but far better still, bag it and take it home OR don't have a dog in the first place!
I agree, the plastic will remain in the ecosystem for a very long time.
If you visit Haytor you'll find dog shite bags shoved in the granite crevices. It's lazy and disgusting. I bet climbers just love finding a stinking bag of dog doo in a hand hold!
Then there's the lazy as f**k dog walkers on the Warren, some people use the water year round - had some decent winter surf if you don't mind a mouthful of e-coli!
@Neoliberal Democrat - i think you will find that there is a lot more human waste in the sea than canine, where do you think your number 1/2's go.
I'm well aware of the amount of sewage in the sea thanks. But knowing that there's more human faeces than canine faeces does not make it okay let your dog crap on the beach.

Locally beaches have reached some high standards, it just pisses me of when some people have no regard for maintaining them.
What's the point in improving human waste management whilst a minority disregard the many notices regarding dog fouling and fail to use bins provided?
There use to be 2 dog wardens for teignbridge but agaian due to cut backs only 1 now, also one of those wardens was happy to work flexi hours ie. early mornings and early evenings patrolling known problem areas but that was stopped and the one left now only works 8:00am to 4:00pm who has to cover all of teignbridge district ! I know that is no excusse for lazy dirty dog walkers but those who are inclined to be so know that there chances of being caught are extremely rare. I am a dog owner, have been all my life, but now start to feel as if i'm doing wrong by walking my dog along footpaths and beaches even though I always have plenty of bags on me to clean up and either place in correct bins or take back home to bin them.
@Merlin228. Why are you starting to feel that way? Clearly you're not part of the problem and good on you for being a responsible dog owner. There shouldn't be any need for dog wardens in the first place.
@ Neo Some of the looks given by people especially parents with youngsters on the beach reminds me of the saying "if looks could kill". I know they are only looking out for the wellfare of their children and have more than likely encountered dog mess left where it shouldn't before. In a perfect world I agree there shouldn't be a need for dog wardens or any other type of wardens like parking/traffic but can't see that happening in my life time.
@Merlin228 if these people give you 'a look that could kill' when you're simply out walking your dog then they're pretty messed up people. if they're constantly anxious that at any moment the dog could assume the crouch position and deficate then they need some professional help. they might have a dog faeces phobia or even be repulsed by their own excretions.
If they still give you dirty looks when you're cleaning up after your dog, then what can you do?
I'd say it's their problem and not yours, who knows what passers by think? Some of them might just look that way constantly and it might not have anything to do with dogs or dog faeces.
Sometimes even people with looks that can kill or 1000 mile stares often respond positively to a friendly hello and a smile. We've all probably forgotten how to interact face to face with others somewhat. Blame modern stressful lifestyle maybe, the internet and Dawlish.com. But don't feel bad about walking your dog.
How much poop do amphibians put in the sea every day. I would have thought a whale has rather large poops. Has anyone told them they shouldn't poop where they eat, sleep and drink..ha ha.

@FredBassett, good point. maybe dawlish.com should include a map of dogging sites in their events or services sections, where local and visiting deviants could write reviews and share fond memories of boning strangers.
Cycling in the Haldons, I've seen a larger lady, breasts hanging out fellating a man through her car window. I've seen three men dropping trousers and getting familiar in the bushes and the occasional camper van rocking side to side.
And then the discarded condoms help to identify other sites.
I don't think they use a booking agent, looks more like a first come first serve sort of thing.
I agree TDC councillors might fancy getting involved.
We'll see if we can get a certain charity to ban the lot.

In any case Amphibians live on land, in arboreal (woodland) habitats, freshwater ecosystems and in some cases underground. They evolved from sea living creatures many millions of years ago. But unlike Whales they don't live, eat, sleep or pooh in the sea any more.
No need to get so personal, what has upset you? Surely not my opinions on dog doo and dogging?
