Passengers were forced to evacuate a stranded train by climbing down ladders in the early hours of the morning after a huge wave crashed into a mainline service.
The westbound service broke down between Dawlish and Teignmouth around 9.30pm – the stretch of track which was wiped out for weeks after the storms of 2014.
