A MAN who stole £13,000 from a Dawlish holiday park then went on the run to Manchester has walked free from court after his family said they would help him pay back the cash.
Jake Dunkley, 20, stole the money from a safe at the Golden Sands Holiday Park then fled to his home city in the north because he wanted to see the birth of his daughter.
But he left a fingerprint at the scene and was brought to justice at Exeter Crown Court – two years after committing the burglary.
His relieved family left the court in tears after telling the judge they would lend him £8,000 to pay back the holiday park and get him a job as a barber in Paignton.
