If David Cameron is to gain an overall majority on May 7, he needs to hang onto Newton Abbott with the same tenacity as the railway line at Dawlish in the face of a fresh storm.

Mrs Morris has been pressing home her claims to have spearheaded the campaign for the New Kingskerwells Bypass, demanding a share of the Government cash for small firms for superfast broadband and for her role in advocating the saving of the Dawlish railway line.

The Railway would have been saved whoever was in power,so I think boasting that she helped save it is a bit presumptious. There is an important communication cable that runs the length of the line all the way to Penzance, that was top priority when the line was breached. Thanks to the excellent work of Network Rails Engineers and Orange Army order was restored and they are the ones that should get the praise not Cameron or AMM. The line has still not technically been saved because whoever governs in the future we could become a small branch line with an alternative route to Cornwall. Beware the spin wink

Yes I nearly choked last night at the Hustings when she said that it twas she who had pressed David Cameron to prioritise getting the rail line fixed!

In fact this is what she says in her latest election communication "The Dawlish railway line was repaired in record time after I put pressure on the PM to take action".

Oh really?

I think the point Roberta makes about the communication cable is much, much, nearer the truth.
