POLICE were called to a railway station after a drunken city man yelled abuse at a female train guard, Exeter magistrates have heard.
Oliver Bowen, 19, of Higher Summerlands, Heavitree, pleaded guilty to a public order offence of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to the woman at Dawlish Warren train station.
Bowen was given a six-month conditional discharge for his behaviour towards the woman, who was a train manager with South West Trains.
Prosecutor Neil Lawson said she was on duty, on the train, when it arrived at the station on January 31 this year.
"When the doors opened, the defendant was standing in the doorway," said Mr Lawson.
