So what you are saying Paul, is that the people who are obese from suffering from arthritis along with other medical problems and have extreme difficulty in getting about, relying on people to wash and shave them as they cant hold a razor or electric shaver etc, should go out to work as they are lazy?

I totally agree with you carer, also medication like steroids and beta blockers that people are given for a variety of health problems cause weight gain, and in turn cause weight loss impossible. Some people inherit the genes of their forebearers .We are all born different for different purposes in this life and to start categorising people into classes is a very dangerous and slippery slope. Im a hard working tax payer but bare no ill towards people who are in these unfortunate circumstances. What I do object to is my taxes going towards MPs fat luxury lifestyle, 2nd homes and also the other blight on our society big business tax free bonuses.As I said Hitler divided a nation and persecuted certain sections of society and this bloody prat and his allies is trying to do the same. I'd like to think that "Paul" is only referring to those who are obese because they eat too much and are unwilling (not unable) to do anything about it. And I wouldn't have thought that "I've a low metabolism" would count as unable.
This policy statement of Cameron's is all about headline grabbing in the Daily Fail though. Take away benefits from druggies and winos and what will they do? They won't go dry, they'll be robbing from these hardworking people that "Paul" refers to. And they won't be stopped because the Tories have slashed the number of police officers to protect us hardworking people. None of it makes any sense!! Though I do think that people should eat more healthily, sadly there's nothing anyone can do to force them. And gastric bands on the NHS isn't the answer!

Hopefully the same fate will befall the strange notion floated this week by IDS to give away council houses as a "reward" to people who stay off job seekers allowance for a year. We need more social housing, not less

Some may say that the amount that actually goes to waste is not significant. But I don't believe that, I’ve watched those awful benefits programs on TV. Most of those people could work.
Also no one likes going to work on a cold, wet, dark Monday morning. But most of us do and then see a huge chunk of our wages removed in tax. I don’t mind paying tax if it all goes to good use. When it is wasted on the lazy that can’t be bothered to pull their weight it is very unfair. If you want to pay for people to not work then you do so. However I rather not, thank you.
Paul those people on those awful benefits programmes are working they are being paid to appear in good old fashioned propaganda.

@Paul. i'm sure that there are people who abuse the system, it would be naive to think otherwise. however, they are in a tiny minority as the checks and sanctions regime for claiming jsa is very tough. equally the push to get people off esa has been very hard hitting.
We all see the world in different ways, I'm just sad to see the "race to the bottom" that all the potential governments are engaged in that runs the risk of reducing the safety network for vulnerable people built up over the past century to a shadow of its former self.
The age of austerity will continue throughout the next parliament and the cuts to date are as nothing compared to what is to come. Britain 2020 will be very different.
We have been here before Paul as you well know the Tories are now considering reducing child benifit for those who have large families we could be on a downward slope with another Tory goverment anyone could be in the firing line. Maybe we should penalize veterans who have PTSD, arms and legs missing, the blind, those who vote Labour UKIP maybe even those who drive a car more than 10 years old. As any half sensible person knows the benifit scroungers make up a very small percentage of the total. Pensioners are the largest users of the benifit system but hey Paul you could always have euthonasia on their 70th birthday. It has already been mentioned but i will remind you of the billions not paid in tax by companys and the rich billions, paid out to prop up failing banks who haven't changed there ways just look at HSBC as one example. The real scroungers in this country are not those who are on benifits, the sick, and vunrable, but those who move their billions around the world companys and individuals who owe us as tax payers billions in unpaid tax.
All I'm saying, it is great that the Government is trying to stop people receiving benefits when they are not entitled. I never mentioned anything about stopping people receiving help when they genuinely need it.
Tomorrow I could be hit by a bus and need help from society for the rest of my life.
The rich that have not paid their fair share of tax are just as bad. They have everything but still want more.

He has no idea because this goverment has a strategy of divide and conquer, the welfare bill is increasing and why Paul because of the 220 billion we spend on welfare 165 billion is spent on the retired and elderly thats75% of the welfare bill. And out of work payments are a very small percentage of the remaining 25%. The problem is we are living longer more and more of those in work are on 0 hour contracts earning min wage and claiming benifits to top up there low wages, more people in work claim benifits than those on the dole. The answer is simple a living wage that takes folk out of the benifit trap and puts them into a tax bracket in truth Paul your tax payments are being used to subsidise large multi million pound companys who pay min wage on 0 hour contracts the system is loaded for the have's not the have nots. I will finish and set the record straight i am one of the 75% and very happy to be, life has never been so good thanks to our welfare system that keeps me in the manner i am accustomed to so for that i thank you Paul

By reading what you like to watch on TV, It wouldnt surprise me that you think Eastenders, Corrie, etc etc are real life also.
There was no need to say it. The original post was about those choosing to be lazy. Nothing about taking benefits away from those in genuine need.
