A legal challenge to stop twenty council-run care homes closing across Devon has failed - meaning hundreds of frail and elderly people will have to move to new accommodation.
Maureen Beauchamp, the daughter of a care home resident, has had to drop her legal fight after failing to secure legal aid. Barristers advised her that although Devon County Council may have made mistakes, it has not broken the law.
Here are the homes due to close, together with the expected date. Some have already shut.
Due to close from July 2014:

- Green Close, Sidmouth
- Fairlea, Bideford (already shut)
- Orchard Lea, Cullompton

- Whipton Barton, Exeter
Due to close from early 2015:

- Tracey Vale, Bovey Tracey
- Oakwell, Barnstaple
- Wardhayes, Okehampton
- St Lawrence, Crediton
Due to close from Spring 2015:

- Davey Court, Exmouth
