I believe in enjoying what money you have. But people should be charitable, too. If I see a member of the Salvation Army with a collection box, I’ll always put something in. I remember, aged four-and-a-half, being ushered into a hall after being evacuated from London to Dawlish, Devon, and a kind soldier of the Salvation Army offering me a cup of tea.
