Please take time to read the whole story. Here is a extract .

Has your attitude to money changed as you’ve got older?

I believe in enjoying what money you have. But people should be charitable, too. If I see a member of the Salvation Army with a collection box, I’ll always put something in. I remember, aged four-and-a-half, being ushered into a hall after being evacuated from London to Dawlish, Devon, and a kind soldier of the Salvation Army offering me a cup of tea.

Old Fart, if you're suggesting that I'm in any way envious of Melvyn, think again. I'm merely trying to work out why he's so bitter?  Though maybe on reflection I'm doing him an injustice and it's the paper that's turned it into an anti-BBC rant.

So, what next?  Calls for the return of Love Thy Neighbour?  Or Mind Your Language?
