I am trying to find information on the remains of what appears to be the supports of a peir or jetty just to the north of the rock. A double row of stumps are visible at low water and my attempts to trace their history online have been fruitless. I am hoping that one of the senior citizens of Dawlish will have some knowledge of the history of these remnants.

Anthony Wilkes.

Hi dobbsydotcom, thanks for your rapid response to my query.

I had found a brief mention of the pier during Google searches (from  the Southampton Geo. site) but no details.

Your links will hopefully provide what i need.

Best regards.
