Maybe that explains all the questions about poor TV reception laugh

I was there.  It's real but is nothing to do with Dawlish TV reception so nothing to worry about there.  What is worrying though is why the satellite has crashed - there have been similar reports in India, Mexico, Australia and South Africa.  Something is taking out our communications systems perhaps but the government is not making a statement that makes any sense - are they covering something up?

Are you lot too young or too foolish to know April Fool ends at noon?!  La Fir Polo?  Lame!

I prefer the conspiracy theory story which explains the April Fool cover-up.  Also the idea of the April Fool being reversed at midday is just a relatively modern invention - probably just an April Fool trick itself originally.

Yes DP, but was it the La Fir Polo as reported by the paper or its sister satellite, the La Il Proof?

@Lynne.  the paper got the name wrong.  three of us have now confirmed the story - me, don pearson & elvis presley - and we surely all have enough nous not to be taken in by government cover-ups.  how many people does it take to confirm something as true?  answers please in under 500 words.  the truth is out there.  you must just believe.

and the NSA are monitoring this thread - they've taken capital letters out of the start of my sentences to try to discredit me - someone who can't write properly can surely not be be;ieved ...........

Yes, Lynne, spying is not what it once was ..... those halcyon days of dry martinis on caribbean shores waiting for some voluptuous beauty (of either sex) to emerge from crystal waters, dripping sensually and clutching a large conch shell containing microfilm of the plans for the world's satellite systems which are gradually being destroyed ...... those were indeed the days, once you'd come back in from the cold of course.

You may yet be in luck ... judging by European events there could be new opportunities for 'Cold War' experts frown
