Take a look at the fourth example in this link

would be great if we had something similar our side of the estuary like at the Warren or in the town.

There is a cycle hire shop in Dawlish on Park Road and they do really good trade. But thanks for the article Lynne and let's hope a budding cafe owner in Dawlish takes up the idea. If I had the capital I would do it myself as I think it is the next big opportunity in Dawlish. Hubby and I often cycle the Topsham to Exmouth route taking our folding bikes on the train. On the way back we get off at DW and cycle into Dawlish, but what is really clear is that we need the final bit of the route into town and then a 'cycle friendly cafe'!

A Cycle Cafe? Maybe I'm not processing correctly tonight!

@Margaret Swift is correct, the cycle hire shop on park road is a fantastic place and bob and the team there at breaking wind will always be welcoming and happy to help new customers be advice or to find the right bike/equipment for them. check them out at www.brakingwindcycles.co.uk/‎ if you haven't already! i would however like to think that every cafe in dawlish is a "bycicle friendly" cafe and would welcome bikers to stop by and enjoy freshments, before, between or after thier journeys respectfully. without naming any to be fair to all, we have some fantastic cafe's in dalwish with ample space to leave bycicles outside while the cyclist can enjoy the comfort of the inside.

If we were to have a Cafe just for cyclist, can we also please have one for car drivers, truckers, buggy pushers excetra? Ok I'm being silly now I know, I guess what I'm saying is we have great venues already here in Dawlish so why not get a group of cyclist together and maybe visit alternative ones on each of adventuers! Therefore putting to use and giving trade to those who choose to make Dawlish thier place of buissness.

Yes I know about Bob's bike shop and of course I know about the multitude of eateries we have in the town. Not sure we have a lot of room for lots of bikes being parked up though.

So, what I was(am) getting at is a one stop shop type of thing with plenty of room for bikes to park up, plenty of room for bikes to be stored for hiring and to be repaired enroute, and for it to be a eaterie as well. Warren would have more space than the town I would imagine.  I'll send the article to Bob Bowen.
