Over the past few days the BBC's Spotlight South West progamme has been looking at the various alternative/additional rail routes to that of the one we presently have. Tonight I believe they will be looking at the three routes nearest to Dawlish. Exminster/NA. Powderham/NA and Dawlish Warren/NA.
I think that they should tomorrow Interview the local MP Anne-Marie Morris. Please remember that It Is Additional , not Alternative.
@stephen 15 - are you saying that they ought to interview A-MM or that they will be?
@Lynne - at the bottom of your link is another link to a jrc report that makes interesting and thought provoking reading (albeit very draft in nature) . a line over bodmin moor to by-pass plymouth is not going to happen anytime this century though!
The route gradient graphs are very interesting detail and nicely show how much of the SD line was built with 'non-mainline' gradients (1 in 40s) that were only deemed acceptable on the back of the concept of Brunel's 'atmospheric propulsion' - or electrification in modern money.
