Just to update people on the pothole situation
I rang Devon Highways this morning to chase up repairs to the A379 on Teignmouth Hill and near the Zebra crossing on the Exeter Road
They tell me the situation is getting worse, and they can no longer meet the target of repairing main roads within 24 hours. They have extra teams out and are doing the best they can.
Obviously, the situation on minor roads such as Secmaton Lane is even worse
Elm Grove Drive is in a realy bad way so is Weech Road but with budgets being cut we will have to get used to it the positive it slows the traffic down.
Facts are our road tax is a con and not used for what was intended.
Please note my previous comments about our local motorway.
Total bloody disgrace.
@leatash - elm grove drive has been a nightmare for ages. the owners of the cars parked along that road must be pickled with dents.
VEL was never intended to repair roads its a excise licence that allows you to use your vehicle on the public highway all you have to do is drive slowly and miss the pot holes. Now if we want our roads in tip top condition the answer is toll roads with the money ring fenced for repairs of the roads.
Well the temporary fixes (I assume that's what they were supposed to be) lasted a long time along Elm Grove Road. They looked awful when they were done and are all lying at the side of the road in rubble form now. Hope they didn't pay too much for the 'services' of those contractors.
I am sending a copy of your comments to our County Councillor, John Clatworthy.
I'm sure he would appreciate talking to you directly. If you would like to contact him to arrange this, his email is John.Clatworthy@Devon.Gov.UK
