Dawlish thanks the Orange Army

 

For those who wish to add their comments to the Appreciation of the men (and women too!) who are working daily wonders to bring our railway and seawall back.

 

I appreciate from comments on this site that not everyone thinks it necessary.  That's cool, it would be a dull old world if we all thought the same :)

Michael,

I suspect (well, okay, I know) that local people are part of the Orange Army or are in some way supporting it directly (catering?).

It did go through my mind that perhaps they, and others involved, from the evacuation of Riverira Terrace and environs to the final opening of the railway again, could be mentioned in dispatches as it were. Perhaps a photo of each person with name recorded  for posterity? Where to be displayed though?

@Lynne. the museum is curating an archive.  all contributions of images and memories welcome
