Dawlish Discussion

Over the past few years I have seen this sign appear, disappear and then reappear at different locations around the A379. Is there only 1 of these signs for the entire A379 ? It must cost more to keep moving it, post and all, than to just have the sign itself moved or several signs placed in static positions ?

Is it to bring to the attention of other road user's how well motorcyclists ride on the A379 ? How many motorists have died / been injured on the A379 in the past 3 years ?

I thought the fiqure to be pretty good myself in other parts of the region it would be far higher with posible fatalities as well.

Dont really see the point of the sign though as its likely at least 4 out of the 7 fell off themselves without the involvement of another vehicle.

It would be more usefull if they warned motorists of the stupid double decker buses that seem incabable of staying on their own side of the road

I'd like to see signs warning road users about the perils of 4x4 drivers who think they own the roads. What say you FREDBASSETT?

Sounds like a good idea, but what would these perils be, and why is your question aimed at me in person. I own a van not a 4 x 4

Perils?  Let's see. Chelsea tractors driven by people who have no idea of the width of their vehicles. Off-roaders who destroy our countryside in their gas-guzzlers. Idiots who don't give a monkeys about swinging open their over-sized doors into cars parked next to them, usually to let their over-sized bodies out of their penis-substitute vehicle. Oh and those smug so-and-so's who appear whenever it snows (I guess I'm only jealous about that one!). 

I aimed my question at you FREDBASSETT as I was interested in your opinion. As always. 

My opinion is that I fear you may have serious issues with other peoples opinions.

My world is the same is yours FREDBASSETT. However my view of it is, in my opinion, somewhat more rational. 

I always find find it funny when people try to shout down people who dare to answer back those who claim that their opinion is the only valid one. We all have opinions and we're all entitled to them. That's why forums like this are so popular.

No ROBERTA. No I don't. I reckon that sadly you're missing the irony of my opinion being belittled by those who cry 'freedom of speech'. 

@Mrs C - reading through many of your comments on different peoples threads. it would seem that you could do with a chillax pill. are you a mrs or just some miserable troll? i only ask because you seem to go off at a tangent on the actual subject of many threads you comment on. no disrespect intended.

Thanks for taking an interest in my well-being OLD FART, however I'm perfectly happy thanks for asking.  I'm sorry if my posts cause you and others so much upset, but I'm now confused as I thought we were all concerned about freedom of speech? 

@Mrs C  - thankyou for such a speedy reply to my question. I wouldn't say that your posts caused me any upset. as is the nature of these type of forums, it adds spice to have a wide range of people inputting into the discussions. 

As to your confusion over freedom of speech within the participants on this site. I fear that one persons definition of freeom of speech may not be anothers!
