I was up the townhall and overheard a few people in suits discussing a new housing estate on the fields along Badlake Hill. I was just wondering if anyone had heard any gossip on this subject.? The last thing we need is hundreds of homes built in Dawlish.
Lets hope that they are built for all the Romanians and Bulgarians who will be coming into the country soon, and charge them £50pw rent.
I've not heard anything about new builds on Badlake Hill, but house building will be good for Dawlish and for the economy.
Also we have a housing shortage in this country and need more housing everywhere.
@roberta - i don't think that they are going to build 100's of homes at the tsd. i beleive it's only a few their.
ALLEMS, that's rather 'backwards' thinking isn't it? 😬
CARER, I'm sorry to say that in my opinion you're being hysterical. Am I allowed to use that word?
Building is okay if infrastructure is in place of which I'm not convinced. Can our schools, doctors and ESPECIALLY our sewerage systems cope? Looking forward to the backlog (no pun intended) of sewerage lorries by Sainsburys next summer ...
@ALLEMS, i don't know what you mean by your 'bone idle' comment and what it has to do with the housing shortage here in the uk. can you explain?
If it helps, no such application has been submitted or any intimation made to the Town Council that such a proposal is under consideration. That location is not included in the emerging Local Plan
I think "ALLEMS" must mean the planning application by Terence Stone to build 28 houses at the end of Meadow Park (see previous) which is still under consideration.
