Hi everyone.

My family and I are new to the area. We are a working family with no pets. We desperately need a 4 bedroom house to move into over the Christmas period, preferably private rented to avoid agency fees.

We would be very grateful if someone could point us in the right direction of some private landlords that may have something available. We have a deposit and excellent references.

Many thanks.

Adelle.

We dont have nice big four bedroom houses here as there's no demand our district council only support the building of "affordable" ramshackle wood huts to house Exeter and Newton Abbots benifit scroungers. Oh and to pocket the central government grant money for such.

However if you visit Force estate agents on Queen Street. Im sure the boss David Force can put you in touch with someone.

Hi ADELLE, ignore FREDBASSETT, there are plenty of lovely 4-bedroom homes in Dawlish, however I don't know how many are to let.

Best of luck with your quest, as Dawlish really is a lovely little town to live in.

Teignmouth would be a better bet with more shops and its going forward not backwards.,

Best thing to do is go on the net and check out availabilities.

Wondering/Old Fart - we have been online but unfortunately there are no privately rented properties available. We have also looked on Rightmove, but as I said we would prefer a private landlord and that website only offers properties through an agency.

Many thanks for your replies everyone.

@Ashephard1 - if you're on facebook try eye of dawlish or teignmouth oracle.  you're more likely to find something on there.
