I am curious as to what happened to the house on the sea front, probably derelict for some time. It can be seen from the sea wall after the Coastguards bridge on the way to the Warren. I don't want to buy it or anything, just curious as to what happened and why obviously such a prime site is left undeveloped.
There was a planning application submitted I'd guess 12/18 months ago to demolish that house and build, I think it was, two others in its place. I've no idea of the outcome of the planning app.
Yes Carer, it is the one with the arches but it is still there. Just wondered what the history was and why it has been left empty for so long.
It is a shame that it has been left derelict for so long - as you say it is in a prime location. Maybe the owners ran out of funds or couldn't get funding for a rebuild.
It was bought by a local developer a few years ago. I think they are waiting on planning permission to be granted for 2 houses. I understand there is some objection to this by neighbours and the situation is still waiting to be resolved.
Can any one tell me whats the building on Dawlish Warren station(exeter st.davids side) for? Is It a holiday place or a actual house for someone to move into?
Yes you're correct as I live almost opposite and are one of the residents objecting to their various applications.
First flats five stories high and then flats three stories, all obscuring the wonderful views but also totally out of keeping with the surrounding landscape.
These people are extremely wealthy and haven't given up yet so there's no telling what we might end up with ! another Kilmorie,Torquay maybe !
Hi All,
Im curious to whether this house is the yellow house along the sea front .... Number 8? Its been delerict for so long now ....My partner is a builder and has always had his eye on this property for our family home.
Im interested to locate the owener of it, what is the chances?
Thank you
If I recall correctly it was on the market with Fulfords a while back. If you look at the planning applications there's a dispute with a neighbour over access at the lower level.
Hi Mcjrpc,
Thanks for your reply. Yes it was, last year. We missed our oppotunity there, gutted. Only just found that out this morning otherwise my husband would`ve been over the moon!! He has wanted this property for many years and being a builder, it is right up his street. We do not live in the area, hence not knowing it was on the market last year. Would make a beautiful home!!
I contacted Fulfords earlier, still havent heard back from them ... Thats probably a lost end and wont come to nothing. Just the price it went for would be interesting.
I have tried looking at the planning application for the property but cannot find anything. There is several other house applications but i cannot trace this one. Maybe im missing something, thats more my partners department. He is at work at the moment.
Its such a beautiful house, personally i think flats will be an eyesore.
Looks like it's sold, subject to contract.

Thanks for the link, that was an interesting read! We was right about the price though.
Im quite gutted, a new modern build wont suit that beautiful area. Just look at the flats they`re currenty building a slight way down that same road ... Too modern, they dont fit in.
Its such a lovely property, will defanitley keep our eyes on it a lot more in future.
Thanks again for all your help =)
